How To Clean Polished Concrete

Methods for cleaning polished concrete

Selecting the right method for cleaning your polished concrete or seamless hardsurface will save you money, time, improve the quality of your clean, and maximise your surface's life. 

Light Cleaning

Daily or regular cleaning is designed to be simple, fast and efficient. 

To removing grit, debris, pet hair and general mess that is caused by life.

By completing this task regularly.

Dry microfibre mop : 

- Keep the mop in contact with your polished concrete or surface at all times

- In one continuous movement pass the mop over the surface from wall to wall (you should aim to overlap 25-50% of the previous line.

A small pile of debris will appear in front of the mop if debris starts to move away from the mop or pass under it stop and sweep up the pile with a dustpan and broom.

100sqm should take approximately 5mins 

- Microfibre vacuum (hard surface head):

why? 

Polished Concrete and other hard surfaces such as timber, tiles etc. should only be vacuumed with this type of head for 2 reasons. 

1. Efficiency microfibre/hard surface cleaners are designed specifically to picking up more debris than a standard bristle head

2. Cost. Using the correct head will actually save you money! 

Traditional bristle heads are designed for soft surfaces, i.e. carpet when these bristles are regularly used on hard surfaces such as polished concrete timber ect they were away destroying the bristles costing you money to replace it. 

Spot Cleaning

Spills, mud, accidents are a part of everybody's life!

Spot cleaning is designed to prevent life premaritally damaging your surface. 

PRO NOTE: yes, your surface is or should be sealed, yes sealers are a line of protection.  However, no sealer is a total and complete prevention this is why we spot clean.    

method:

Spray & Wipe:

Spray Correctly diluted, Raw Surfaces Polished Concrete & Hard Surfaces Cleaner

 

1. spray onto effect area

2. Wipe solution and spill from surface 

3. Ring out cloth if required 

4. Repeat the process until the spill is cleaned.  

Spray Mop

Don't want to bend over or touch that "accident" your puppy may have caused? We completely understand!

Raw Surfaces spray mop is the solution. 

 1. Fill spray mop with correctly diluted Raw Surfaces Polished Concrete & Hard Surfaces Cleaner

2. Spray the affected area with the mop

4. If required use Raw Surfaces brush to clean dirty liquid into a bucket 

5. Repeat until the spill has been cleaned from your polished concrete or hard surface. 

Heavy Cleaning 

every 1 - 4 weeks

(in a domestic environment)

Heavy cleaning should be simple and safe and funnily enough, not heavy at all.

This style of cleaning will remove worm in dirt grease etc.  

Why: 

As clean as we may be things like naturally occurring oils and greases in our skin, do leave smudges and marks on polished concrete & hard surfaces holding hold dirt dust.

Not to mention our pets, children or guests that might care as much about your polished concrete or surface quite as much as you! 

Methods: 

(before any of these processes it is advised your surface should be micro fibred or vacuumed first) 

Spray Mop:

1. Fill spray mop with clean water and correctly diluted Raw Surfaces Polished & Hardsurfaces Cleaner. 

2. Mentally break your space up into squares working across the room at the length of your mop.  (this will ensure you don't miss anything)  

3. Spray and mop the entire surface in this pattern ensuring your mop is always damp 

4. Monitor dirt and debris building up in front of your mop and on your mop. 

5. Clean debris and mop head into a bucket, mop had can be cleaned with the provided brush. 

PRO NOTE: the cleaner your mop head the cleaner the floor. 

6. Allow the surface to dry. 

Karcher vacuum mop. 

1. Fill Karcher vacuum when you use the restroom mop with clean water and correctly diluted Raw Surfaces Polished & Hardsurfaces Cleaner. 

2. Mentally break your space up into squares working across the room at the length of your mop.  (this will ensure you don't miss anything)  

3. Vacuum mop the entire surface in this pattern ensuring your mop is always damp 

4. vacuum mop will collect the debris and dirty water, leaving a stunning clean. 

5. empty water chamber as required. 

6. Allow the surface to dry. 

Standard mop

1. Fill mop bucket with clean water and correctly diluted Raw Surfaces Polished & Hard surfaces Cleaner. 

2. Mentally break your space up into squares working across the room at the length of your mop.  (this will ensure you don't miss anything)  

3. Mop the entire surface in this pattern ensuring your mop is always damp 

4. Monitor dirt and debris building up in front of your mop and on your mop. 

5. monitor how clean your mop water is, changing as required.  

PRO NOTE: the cleaner your mop water and mop head the cleaner the floor. 

6. Allow the surface to dry.
