Microcement

It's no secret that minimalistic design is sexy, but it's hard to achieve because with less, we have less room for error.

Microcement is the answer to consistently achieve a minimalistic look and recreate the look of concrete or natural stone design without the weight over most surfaces.

Important things to know.

  • Microcement is a luxury material, not a cheap overlay material

  • When installing the most basic low preparation system a project can not be completed in less than 3 days no matter the size unless you cut corners

  • Choosing the right contractor is more important than the brand of microcement.

  • The preparation or system we use changes depending on what we are going over. There are specific systems for different surfaces

  • No microcement is waterproof; it is water-resistant (if a competitor states it is waterproof, ask for the certification that complies with waterproofing regulations)

What is Microcement?

Microcement is born from the render family, but it performs completely differently & is a much more involved process, with the minimum duration for a project being 4 days

Microcement's versatility makes it the ideal choice for use on floors, walls, ceilings, and joinery, both in dry and wet areas in both new and existing properties.

Microcement is blended with a specialised polymer-modified liquid rather than water.

This makes the material highly flexible, with enhanced structural strength and increased adhesion.

Microcement's total thickness is approximately 2-5mm, depending on the preparation.  Microcement can be applied to a range of surfaces, including concrete, timber, cement sheeting, plaster, and more.

Each surface does require its own type of preparation, which will change the cost and minimum duration of your project

Microcement styles & designs
